In a blink of an eye she has done it again. Freshman Kaitlyn Kreger ran with the determination of a crafty veteran. She began her pursuit to be a dual (Indoor& Outdoor) All-American this past weekend at the Eastern Kentucky University Open in the 800m run. Kreger qualified in a time of 2:17.94 and that was almost a full five seconds faster than the meet qualifying time. Kreger will go for a chance to be an Outdoor All-American in the 800 at the National Outdoor Championship in Hutchinson, Kansas May 14-16, 2009.

Amber Siegle finished her indoor season the same way she started it by winning! According to Greek mythology, penathletes we
re among the most skilled athletes in the society. So it is no surprise that Siegle captured All-American honors in the Pentathlon at the National Indoor Meet in Lubbock Texas. She followed her epic performance with an All-American honorable mention in the Open High Jump. “I did better than I expected, it was an awesome experience and our whole team did a great job.”-Amber Siegle
Imagining her every movement on the track in the 600m run, Kaitlyn Kreger knew she was ready to exercise her innate ability to run.
The competition in Lubbock will forever remember the name Kaitlyn Kreger. Kreger is immortalized in the Macomb and the NJCAA history books as an All-American athlete in the 600.
“Texas was amazing! It was such a great experience. I ran a lot faster than I would have ever expected to run in the 600. It feels good to be an All-American. All the hard work definitely paid off and I’m excited to see what outdoor has in store.” –Kaitlyn Kreger
The baton battling team of Chelsea Myers, Kaitlyn Kreger, Amber Siegle and Carissa Hudson received All-American honorable mention honors in the 3200m Relay. With little preparation these women managed to receive honors in a highly competitive field.

Congratulations are in order for Assistant Coach Christopher Brown and his amazing strength in the
weight throwing competition. Although, Chris is coaching he still competes without an affiliation. Chris powered up and threw a distance of 18.59 to qualify for the USA National Championships in Boston Sunday, March 1st. The competition can be viewed on ESPN 2 Sunday at 5 pm. Let's root Chris on as he tries for a chance to compete in the world championships.

On February 7, 2009, Coach Campbell was the recipient of the Bob Bloomer Award! It was given to Coach Campbell, by The Association of Track Officials of Michigan (ATOM) for his years of outstanding service in the sport of Track & Field in Michigan!

Is there anyone that can match the amazing feats performed by Amber Siegle? She run
s, jumps and vaults with the ease and precision of Jaime Sommers (The Bionic Woman). As Siegle continues to thwart the competitions hopes of winning, she has become the queen of the pentathlon. Amber set a new Macomb record on Saturday in the pentathlon with a total of 3,017 points. However, Siegle’s success didn’t end with the pentathlon; she qualified for the National Indoor Meet in the 800-Meter run with a time of 2:25.89 almost two and a half seconds below of qualifying time. Kudos Amber and the rest of the world watch out for this amazing athlete!

Not to be outdone, Carissa Hudson continues to improve on her impressive season with another qualifying time in the 1000-meter run with a time of 3:12.05. Her time was almost four seconds faster than the qualifying time. Hudson will race in Lubbock Texas on March 5th-7th!
Also, congratulations go out to the Macomb Women’s Distance Medley Relay Team of Chelsea Myers, Sara Plebanski, Carissa Hudson and Kaitlyn Kreger for their qualifying time of 13:09.51 almost a full minute faster than the qualifying. Someone get a fire extinguisher because their spikes are smoking!

One, Two Kaitlyn’s coming for you, three, four you better lock your door. Well in this case the competition better lock the doors to the indoor tracks. Freshman Kaitlyn Kreger continues her impression freshman campaign as she qualifi
es in another event at the National Indoor Track Meet. She has already qualified to run in the 800-Meter race and now with a time of 1:40.48 in the 600-Meter Run, Kreger jogged crossing the finish line two seconds faster than the National Qualifying time. A reliable source said, “I don’t think she has run her best race yet!” If this statement is true the rest of the collegiate track athletes should be very afraid to sleep because Kaitlyn will be in their dreams slashing her way to victory!
Results from the SVSU Classic-1/16/2009

Mastering the sport of track takes years for some individuals. However, special athletes come along and quickly assimilate themselves to success. Carissa Hudson has achieved success and qualified for the National Indoor-Meet in Lubbock, TX. Hudson completed the 800-Meter run in a time of 2:27.39, almost a minute below the qualifying time. Results from the EMU Open-1/10/2009
Facing tough competition at the Eastern Michigan Open on Saturday, January 10, 2009 the Macomb Women’s Track team continues to have success! Hounding the track with every turn, freshman runner Kaitlyn Kreger turned in a time of 2:27.14 in the 800-Meters. Her time was almost a full second below the qualifying time of 2:28.10! Kaitlyn has qualified and has her bags packed to compete in the National Indoor-Meet in Lubbock, Texas.
