Hillsdale College-4/24-4/25

At Hillsdale College the 1600 Relay team was on a mission.  Indoor All-Americans Marion Body, Ryan Renas, and Kyle Wilson with the addition of Gerry Hammons qualified for the Outdoor National Championships in Hutchinson, KS on May14-16, 2009 with a time of 3:17.80.

Is there anything that Marion Body can’t do?  Picking up the outdoor season the same way he ended the indoor season, Body continues to run to achieve his place in history.  Running against some of the country’s best track athletes Marion Body ran the 1500m run with a qualifying time of 3:59.22.  By qualifying, Body punched his ticket to the National Outdoor Championship in Hutchinson, Kansas May 14-16, 2009.  Body continues to lengthen his resume as he seeks to be called All-American again!   

 

All-Americans: Results from the Nationals

Run Marion, Run!  Crossing the finish line on a circular track in Lubbock, Texas Marion Body completed a feat that is rarely done.  Fending off the competition, Body finished the 1000 meters and became a two-time All-American in the event. 
“I felt like I did good in the 1000.  I moved up two places from last year and I ran my fastest time.  I’m a little disappointed that I missed three different records this meet but there is always outdoor.” –Marion Body

In a showdown with some of the nation’s strongest athletes, Aaron Maiuri was victorious and used his strength to capture All-American honors in the Weight Throw competition.
“It’s certainly an honor and huge achievement for me.  Countless hours in the weight room and in practice paid off.  Dedication and determination are key factors in being successful.  I’d like to thank my coach, Chris Brown for helping me in every way possible!” –Aaron Maiuri 

This past weekend at the National Indoor Meet; Marion Body, Austin Parker, Kyle Wilson and Ryan Renas ran in the Distance Medley Relay and ensured their place in history as All-Americans.
“I was more than satisfied with our DMR; we went from 8th to 3rd!” –Kyle Wilson  
“The DMR was a great success!  We worked hard all season to get there and pushed one another tremendously.  The coaches believed in us and most importantly we believed in ourselves.” –Ryan Renas
“I told the guys, get me to a 6:05 and we’re going All-American.  They got me a 6:05 and I didn’t let them down!” –Austin Parker

Joe Banks Invitational-2/27/2009

In a blink of an eye freshman sensation Kyle Wilson had a record setting day.  At Ohio Northern University Kyle ran with championship thoughts by running with his competition through the first 400 meters and then exploding in the last 100 meters.  Wilson’s time of 1:06.73 is the fastest time in Macomb Community College history in the 500 meters.  This is Wilson’s third event he has qualified to run at the National Indoor Meet!  His meter menacing will continue this weekend in Lubbock, Texas as he races for Track Immortality and a chance to be called a National Champion.

 

Congratulations are in order for Assistant Coach Christopher Brown and his amazing strength in the weight throwing competition.  Although, Chris is coaching he still competes without an affiliation.  Chris powered up and threw a distance of 18.59 to qualify for the USA National Championships in Boston Sunday, March 1st.  The competition can be viewed on ESPN 2 Sunday at 5 pm.  Let's root Chris on as he tries for a chance to compete in the world championships.   

Results from University of Windsor-2/13&2/14 2009

Flash - A Ah!  King of the Track!  Mr. Marion Body continues to run his way into Macomb's Record book.  On Saturday, February 14, 2009, Body raced to a New Macomb Record by completing the 1500 Meter Run in a time of 4:01.99.  His time was almost 3 seconds faster than the qualifying time.  Body has punched his ticket again to the National Indoor Meet in Lubbock!

Congratulations to Assistant Coach Das Campbell

On February 7, 2009, Coach Campbell was the recipient of the Bob Bloomer Award!  It was given to Coach Campbell, by The Association of Track Officials of Michigan (ATOM) for his years of outstanding service in the sport of Track & Field in Michigan!

Mr. Wilson has done it again!  Kyle Wilson continues to menace opposing track teams with his athleticism.  In the meet Kyle, qualified for the 600-Meter run in the National Indoor Meet with a time of 1:23.28.  He continues to depict the determination to be one of the greats in the sport of track.

 

 

 

Marion Body regularly adds accomplishments to his resume and qualifying for the 1000-Meter run is another notch under the seasoned vet’s belt.  He posted a time of 2:33.18 and that is four seconds faster than the qualifying time to reach the National Indoor Meet. 

 

 

The team of Ryan Renas, Austin Parker, Marion Body and William Gerstenberger cruised to a time of 8:03.82 in the 3200-Meter Relay and qualified to run in Lubbock, TX.       

Simmons-Harvey Invitational-1/24/2009

Mr. Wiiilson, are the chants that were heard as Freshman Kyle Wilson ran a calculated race on Saturday the 24th in Ann Arbor, Michigan!  Wilson has trumped his previous performance of qualifying for the National Indoor Track Meet in the Distance Medley Relay with a performance of 51.00 in the 400-Meter Run, solidifying him another spot in Lubbock, Texas!  Congratulations to Kyle for his athletic prowess and maintaining his composure under the lights of U of M against larger schools!  

"I thought I (we) ran really well for the competition that was at Michigan.  We still could use a lot more improvement, I'm glad it's late January and not late February."-Kyle Wilson

Results from MCC-1/16/09

The strength of Aaron Maiuri has landed him at the National Indoor-Meet in Lubbock, TX!  Skill, determination and power were the catalyst for Maiuri's impressive 49'3 distance in the weight throw.  Watch out Texas Aaron is coming!    

 

 

Results from the EMU Open-1/10/2009

Macomb Men's Track Team continues it's pursuit of glory in stride.  

At Eastern Michigan University on January 10th the firm of Renas, Wilson, Body & Parker captured 5th place with an overall time of 10:39.34 in the Distance Medley Relay. 

 

Their time has qualified them to run at the National Indoor Track-Meet in Lubbock, Texas.

Macomb's Men Track Team welcomed three more National Qualifiers for the National Indoor Track-Meet. 

Kyle recorded a time of 50.9 in the 400-Meters.

 

 

 

 

 

Marion recored a time of of 1:21.8 in the 600-Meters.

 

 

 

 

Gerry Hammons leaped 6'6" in the High Jump.

Two great performances by two great athletes! 
Marion Body and Zack Marsack both qualified for the National Indoor Meet in Lubbock, Texas.
