Kim Renas- Head Coach
Kim Renas enters his 26th year as Macomb Community College's Head Men's Cross Country and Track Coach. Renas is also an Adjunct Instructor in Macomb's Physical Education Department. Renas has been with Macomb's Athletic Department since the 1983-84 season. During his tenure, he has been successful at the state, regional and national levels and has coached countless All-Americans.
Renas continues to build upon an outstanding program, year in and year out. Overall, his teams have qualified for the NJCAA National Tournament 15 times. He has coached eight National Champions and four National Champion Relay Teams. Renas has been the Head Cross Country Coach for 14 years, Women's Head Track Coach for 22 years and was named NJCAA National Coach of the Year twice. For his accomplishments at Macomb, Renas has earned himself a place in Macomb's Hall of Fame. Renas has also been successful at the high school level. He has coached the Girl's Track team at Anchor Bay High School for five years and earned Macomb County Coach of the Year honors twice.
Renas ran track for three years at Central Michigan University where he graduated in 1977 with a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education. Renas is also a teacher in the Anchor Bay School District. He and wife, Stacey, of nine years, have raised their four children, Erin, Mark, Ryan, and Ginny.
Stacey Renas- Assistant Coach
Stacey Renas is entering her third season as Assistant Coach with Macomb's Cross Country & Track Teams. Coach Renas will be in charge of cross country & track operations as well as a key member of the fundraising team. Renas, an avid runner, has an extensive athletic background which includes playing professional racquetball.
Stacey and her husband, Kim have raised four children, Erin, Mark, Ryan, and Ginny.
Chris Brown- Assistant Coach
Chris Brown is entering his first season as Assistant Coach with Macomb's Track Team. Brown comes to the Monarchs after a successful career at Macomb. During his career at Macomb, Chris broke the school record in the Weight Throw during the indoor season, with a throw of 56'9". During the outdoor season, Brown broke the school record in the Hammer Throw, with a distance of 181' 7 ¾". Both distances qualified Chris to compete in the National Meet for the indoor and outdoor seasons. Brown earned All-American accolades for the indoor and outdoor seasons. He was also named the team's Most Valuable Performer. His success as an athlete earned Chris a spot in the Macomb Hall of Fame, as the 2006-07 Athlete of the Year.
Brown has been an active recruiter for the development of Macomb's Throwing Club, which has seen considerable growth. In addition to his work with the student-athletes, Brown also attends Wayne State University, where he is on track to earn a degree in Exercise & Sports Science.
