WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY NEWS

 

Kim Renas enters his 25th year as Macomb Community College’s Head Cross Country and Track Coach. Renas is also an Adjunct Instructor in Macomb’s Physical Education Department. Renas has been with Macomb’s Athletic Department since the 1983-84 season. During his tenure, he has been successful at the state, regional and national levels and has coached countless All-Americans.

Renas continues to build upon an outstanding program, year in and year out. Overall, his teams have qualified for the NJCAA National Tournament 14 times. He has coached seven National Champions and four National Champion Relay Teams. Renas has been the Head Cross Country Coach for 14 years, Women’s Head Track Coach for 22 years and was named NJCAA National Coach of the Year twice. For his accomplishments at Macomb, Renas has earned himself a place in Macomb’s Hall of Fame. Renas has also been successful at the high school level. He has coached the Girl’s Track team at Anchor Bay High School for five years and earned Macomb County Coach of the Year honors twice.

“Last year was a great year for us. We continued to improve as the season went. A 13th place finish at Nationals was successful, but we hope for a top ten this year.”

Preview for the 2007-08 season

“The upcoming season there are more questions. We have lost some key runners but return, Eric Nowicki, Doug Mercier and Marion Body who will lead the team. Ashley Tukes will be a major factor for the women’s team this year.”
