Kim Renas-Head Men’s & Women’s Cross Country and Track Coach, Adjunct Faculty
Kim Renas enters his 28th year as Macomb Community College's Head Men's Cross Country and his 34th year overall. Coach Renas is also an Adjunct Instructor in Macomb's Physical Education Department. Renas has been with Macomb's Athletic Department since the 1983-84 season. During his tenure, he has been successful at the state, regional and national levels and has coached countless All-Americans.
Renas continues to build upon an outstanding program, year in and year out. Overall, his teams have qualified for the NJCAA National Tournament 17 times. He has coached eight National Champions and five National Champion Relay Teams. Renas has been the Head Cross Country Coach for 16 years, Head Track Coach for a combined 23 years and was named NJCAA National Coach of the Year twice. For his accomplishments at Macomb, Renas has earned himself a place in Macomb's Hall of Fame. Renas has also been successful at the high school level. He has coached the Girl's Track team at Anchor Bay High School for five years and earned Macomb County Coach of the Year honors twice.
Renas ran track for three years at Central Michigan University where he graduated in 1977 with a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education. Renas is a retired teacher in the Anchor Bay School District. He and wife, Stacey, of nine years, have raised their four children, Erin, Mark, Ryan, and Ginny.
Stacey Renas- Assistant Coach
Stacey Renas is entering her fifth season as Assistant Coach with Macomb's Cross Country & Track Teams. Coach Renas will be in charge of cross country operations as well as a key member of the fundraising team. Renas, an avid runner, has an extensive athletic background which includes playing professional racquetball.
Stacey and her husband, Kim have raised four children, Erin, Mark, Ryan, and Ginny.
Das Campbell- Assistant Coach
Das Campbell enters his 42nd year of coaching and his 18th at Macomb Community College. Campbell began coaching at Macomb in the 1992-93 seasons. A retired High School Math teacher, Campbell’s extensive knowledge as a track coach and athlete has prepared numerous high school and collegiate athletes to compete on the interscholastic, intercollegiate and national track circuit.
Campbell’s tireless effort with Head Coach Kim Renas has Macomb’s Track team in constant contention for National Championships as well as producing World-Class All-American athletes. Daswell’s coaching experience spans over four decades. He coached Cross-country for 38 years and was the Varsity Track Coach for 18 years at Fitzgerald High School. In between that time he gave his knowledge to Grosse Point North High School for a year as the Varsity Track Coach. During his tenure as the a high school coach, he won League Coach of the Year 14 times, and holds the distinguished title of being named to the Hazel Park High School Athletic Hall-of-Fame as well as the Macomb County Coaches Hall-of-Fame. His experience allowed Campbell to work each position with the passion of an athlete moreover, increasing his coaching comprehension on the staff of Macomb Community College for the past 16 years!
Campbell was an excellent athlete on the high school and college levels. He lettered in football for fours years and was an All-State honor mention honors. Das was a member of the basketball team and lettered 4 years in Track gaining First Team All-State honors. Campbell then excelled on the collegiate level as a member of the Michigan State Track team. During his four year career, he was named a co-captain for two seasons as well as receiving the honor of being an All-American athlete in the NCAA. At Michigan State Campbell earned his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in 1967 and at Wayne State he earned his Masters of Sports Administration in 1997. Campbell and his wife of thirty-six years, Carol Campbell has raised their two children Darrell and Christiane.
