A Well Deserved Honor

Macomb Community College Head Baseball and Basketball Coach Henry Washington was presented with an award by the Detroit Tigers in a ceremony in front of over 35,000 fans at Comerica Park, August 19, 2009. The Award, called “Play Baseball Detroit Champions Award” was presented by Detroit Tiger Center Fielder Curtis Granderson.
Coach Washington was being honored in Recognition of and in Appreciation for Longstanding Dedication and Commitment to the Game of Baseball.

Washington volunteered for the Detroit Tigers in the Strategic Planning Department working on various youth baseball initiatives. This summer Washington and the Macomb Community College Baseball staff and players served as instructors in a camp/clinic for the Willie Horton Batting for Kids camp at Comerica Park.
