Tom Waelchli returns to Macomb as a bench coach under Joe Santilli.
Waelchli started his collegiate career at Macomb, before transfering to Wayne St. to finish his college career. While at Wayne St. he recieved a Bachelor's and Master's of Arts.
Macomb Community College was Waelchli's first coaching position, working as an assistant and head coach from 1980 to 1991. He has coached in many different baseball leagues, including the Great Central League, the Frontier League, the Italian Professional League, the Northern League, and the Intercounty Baseball League (Canada). During these stints, Waelchli has held many different positions, including Manager, hitting coach, and pitching coach.
Waelchli has benn married to his wife Wendy for 35 years and they have three children, Erica, Natalie, and J.T.
