Manufacturing Engineering Technology Program

What is Manufacturing Engineering Technology?

Manufacturing Engineering Technology involves the coordination of complex processes and systems in a manufacturing environment to ensure quality and cost efficient production. Manufacturing engineering technologists also serve as troubleshooters, applying engineering principles and modern technology to solve or prevent technical problems. They are employed in a wide variety of manufacturing fields, but are most highly concentrated in those related to the production of semiconductor and other electronic components.

The Manufacturing Engineering Technology Program at Macomb

In Macomb’s Manufacturing Engineering Technology Program, an electronic technology component is incorporated into the manufacturing engineering curriculum to provide you with the broad-based knowledge necessary to become a manufacturing engineering technologist. In addition to learning about metals’ applications, industrial processes, industrial drawing practices and dimensioning, and the difference between a jig and a fixture, you will also be introduced to electronic theory and A.C. and D.C. circuits. You will learn about signals and operating voltages, Ohm’s Law, the Superposition Theorem, parallel circuits and how to use meters and an oscilloscope.
