Chaplain Academy

The Public Service Chaplain Academy is a 60-hour certified training program aimed at providing the skill sets to function in a support capacity within the public safety environment. This course is geared toward members of faith-based organizations or public safety professionals interested in serving in police, fire, and/or EMS agencies.

Areas of study include:

  • Critical Incident Stress Management
  • Interpersonal Communication
  • Cultural Diversity
  • Traffic Safety And Enforcement
  • First Aid and CPR
  • Procedures for Death Notification
  • Firearms Familiarization
  • Subject Control and Self Defense Techniques

Upon successful completion, students will receive a certificate from the Macomb Emergency Services Training Center.
