Macomb Community College is offering nine weeklong career academies this summer to help high school students explore specific career paths.
Each career academy features interactive, hands-on experiences designed to provide real insight into what a career is really like. Participants must be at least 14 years old (16 for the law enforcement and fire service career academies), and applications must be submitted no later than one week before the academy start date (law enforcement deadline is May 27).
This summer’s line up of career academies is:
Law Enforcement, June 18-21, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., East Campus, $165
Culinary/Pastry, June 18-21, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Center Campus, $165
Fire Service, June 18-21 9 a.m.-4p.m., East Campus, $165
IT Gaming, June 18-21, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., South Campus, $165
Media and Communications Arts, June 18-21, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., South Campus, $165
Robotics, June 18-21, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., South Campus, $165
Veterinary Technician, June 18-21, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Center Campus, $165
Hybrid Electric Vehicles, June 25-28, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., South Campus, $25
Biotechnology, July 9-12, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Center Campus, $135
