Macomb Community College is offering a special workshop for adults interested in starting a college education or returning to the college classroom. The workshop offers an overview of how to get started at Macomb, as well information on the No Worker Left Behind program, financial aid and scholarships available for adult students, career choices for the undecided and tips on how to be a successful student.
The Returning to Learning workshop will be Tuesday, June 23, 6:45 to 9 p.m. at the Macomb University Center, located at Macomb's Center Campus, M-59 and Garfield, Clinton Township. The workshop is free, but advance registration is required by calling 1.866.Macomb1 (1.866.622.6621) or by e-mail at gravesc@macomb.edu.
More than a third of Macomb's degree-credit students are over the age of 25, with nearly 70 percent attending college part-time as they balance work and other commitments. The college offers classes that can be completed in just eight weeks, and certificates can be earned in a number of areas of study in just one semester.
