Metro Health Foundation Presents Macomb Community College with Increased Grant for Nursing Scholarships

Release Date:
January 9, 2008

Macomb Community College has received a grant from the Metro Health Foundation for the 10th consecutive year to support a scholarship fund established for nursing students. This year's $10,000 grant represents a $2,000 increase in support of the nursing scholarship fund.

The grant is awarded to eligible Macomb nursing students twice a year by a selection committee of nursing faculty and financial aid staff. In addition to demonstrated academic achievement, the amount of each award is determined by individual financial need (up to $2,000), allowing several eligible candidates to benefit from the grant. Each recipient must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and complete at least 12 credit hours in Macomb's nursing program each semester to retain their scholarship eligibility.

Metro Health Foundation is a private, Detroit grant-making foundation supporting Michigan organizations in health care and health-related fields.
