The Macombers, the vocal show ensemble and scholarship program of Macomb Community College, are pleased to announce audition dates for the 2010-2011 season. Auditions will be held at Macomb Community College, Center Campus in L-Building, room 119 on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 6:00 pm and Sunday, March 21 at 2:00 pm.
Macomb Community College is located on the Southwest corner of Hall Road (M-59) and Garfield Road. These auditions are open to students from all majors and are not limited to those pursuing music-related careers. Call 586-286-2044 for an audition appointment or further information.
The Macombers offer annual scholarships from the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts that cover most costs of their college classes. Members of the Macombers enjoy performance opportunities, receive excellent experience and training, and can earn two years of transferable credits. The group has performed for schools, business organizations, and civic organizations throughout the State of Michigan. Students work with vocal coaches and choreographers to create their show to be performed on the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts main stage and throughout the community.
The audition requires that you:
· Prepare one song: Broadway, pop, or whatever best suits your voice.
· Bring sheet music or accompaniment tape- an accompanist will be provided (no transpositions please). No a cappella please.
· Dress comfortably and be prepared to dance.
· Bring background information or resume.
Scholarship opportunities for keyboard, drum, bass, guitar and sound/tech are also available. Call for information and audition details.
