Macomb Community College will celebrate the accomplishments of its summer and fall graduates, to which it is awarding approximately 1,212 associate degrees, at its 80th commencement on Friday, Dec. 19, beginning at 7 p.m., at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts on Center Campus.
The Most Distinguished Graduate and commencement speaker is Denise Mozal of Chesterfield Township, who is graduating with an associate of applied science degree (legal assistant program) and a grade point average of 4.0.
Mozal works full time as a technical author with the Tweddle Group in Clinton Township and is married to David Mozal, who is employed at Allingham Corporation in Southfield. The couple’s two children, Danielle and Dustin, will graduate from the University of Michigan and L’Anse Creuse High School North, respectively, next May. Mozal is a member of Macomb’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for students attending two-year colleges, and the treasurer of Macomb’s student chapter of the Legal Assistant Association. She intends to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business beginning next fall while continuing to work at Tweddle.
