Macomb Community College’s Fall Open House will be 4:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, at the Lorenzo Cultural Center on Macomb’s Center Campus, Garfield & M-59, in Clinton Township.
At the Open House, students and potential students can speak with faculty and counselors, who can discuss the more than 100 areas of study available at Macomb, including arts & sciences, business, education, engineering & advanced technology, health & human services and skilled trades & apprenticeships.
Macomb’s University Center partners, which offer a variety of bachelor’s and master’s degree programs at the University Center on Center Campus, will also be present at the Open House. The partners are Central Michigan University, Ferris State University, Madonna University, Michigan State University, Oakland University, Rochester College, University of Detroit Mercy, Walsh College and Wayne State University.
Free workshops at the Open House are:
Starting at Macomb, 4:30 p.m.; repeated at 5:30 p.m. This workshop will introduce the participants to the college, the registration process and student services.
Financial Aid, 5 p.m.; repeated at 6 p.m. This workshop will cover how and when to apply for financial aid, and how to search for scholarship opportunities.
“In today’s environment, both our traditional-age students and our older, returning students are very aware of the need for higher education and advanced career training,” said Jim Sawyer, vice president, Learning Unit, at Macomb. “The Open House provides an excellent opportunity for people to be able to have their questions answered and to discover the opportunities that exist not only at Macomb, but at our partner institutions as well.”
