Macomb Community College Offers Free Workshop for Adults Returning to Learning

Macomb Community College is offering a special workshop for adults interested in starting a college education or returning to the college classroom. The workshop covers career exploration, paying for college, Skills First programs, student success, transferring to a senior institution and an overview of how to get started at Macomb.

The Returning to Learning workshop will be Thursday, Nov. 8, 7 to 9 p.m. at the Student Community Center (K Building), located at Macomb's South Campus, 12 Mile and Hayes roads, Warren. To register, call at 1.866.Macomb1 (1.866.622.6621).

Nearly 40 percent of Macomb's degree-credit students are over the age of 25, with nearly 70 percent attending college part-time as they balance work and other commitments. Everyone who applies to Macomb is accepted regardless of past school history or whether or not the student has earned a high school diploma. The college offers classes that can be completed in just eight weeks, and certificates can be earned in a number of areas of study in just one semester.
