The Workforce Development Institute at Macomb Community College will host the 2007 Michigan WorkKeys Conference on Nov. 5 and 6 at the John Lewis Student Community Center (K Building), located at Macomb's South Campus, 12 Mile and Hayes roads, Warren. Sponsored by KeyTrain, ACT and the Macomb/St. Clair Tech Prep Consortium, the conference will introduce WorkKeys to those unfamiliar with the program, provide updates for those already familiar and outline the benefits of the ACT National Career Readiness Certificate, a WorkKeys assessment-based credential that gives employers and career seekers a uniform, standard, objective measure of key workplace skills. The conference will also feature a keynote address by ACT CEO and Chairman of the Board Dr. Richard Ferguson, as well as an employer panel discussion.

WorkKeys is an integrated system that analyzes required skill levels necessary for success on the job, assesses these skills and identifies any gaps that need to be addressed through training.
