Clinton Township – Once known as the terrible cannibal islands to sailors the world over, the Fiji islands are now considered to be the friendliest in the Pacific. Discover this amazing island nation from the spectacular undersea coral reefs to the top of the tallest mountain in the Real World of Fiji on Sunday, February 7 at 4 p.m. at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts .
Narrated by one of the top travelogue producers in the field, Rick Howard will take you on a tour of this island nation with both a violent and colorful history. Rick first visited Fiji twenty years ago as a member of the first American scuba diving group to ever be invited to the island of Waya. The divers spent a week exploring the spectacular undersea coral reefs and experiencing the almost unchanged primitive island life of Waya. From the Cave ceremony, where the divers officially asked the Chief for permission to dive around the island, to a climb to the tallest mountain on Waya, this was an adventure. Return now with Rick to revisit Waya and explore the rest of this amazing island nation.
