Enrollment for the fall semester at Macomb Community College will begin July 7. The college will use a priority registration process for the fall term, which begins with the first day of classes on Aug. 26.
Under the priority registration process, Macomb students who have earned 30 or more credit hours may begin to enroll on July 7, and those who have earned 10 or more credit hours may begin to enroll on July 8. Registration will open for all students on July 9 and continue through the start of the semester.
The priority registration system aids those students who may be nearing degree completion to secure a seat in critical courses, as well as making the college’s web-based registration system to make the system more accessible during the peak days of registration activity.
“With the of students who the web-based registration system, we would see a large number of students trying to log on and register in the first few minutes that the registration period is open for any given semester,” said Ron Hughes, director of enrollment at Macomb. “The new priority system will help to eliminate that bottleneck and provide priority status to those students who may be nearing the end of a particular program of study and need to enroll in certain courses to be able to complete their degree.”
Online registration has grown to represent more than 75 percent of all registrations at Macomb.
Registration may be made via the college’s Web-Reg system, available at www.macomb.edu or the Tel-Reg system by calling 586.445.7373. Registration may also be made in person, beginning July 9, at the enrollment office at Macomb’s South Campus in Warren or Center Campus in Clinton Township.
Prior to the beginning of the registration period, students and prospective students may search for classes at https://webadvisor.macomb.edu/datatelinfo/sections/sectionsearch.asp.
