Macomb Community College will celebrate the accomplishments of its summer and fall graduates, to which it is awarding approximately 976 associate degrees, at its 82nd commencement on Saturday, Dec. 19, beginning at 2 p.m., at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts on Center Campus.
The Most Distinguished Graduate and commencement speaker is Katherine Olynyk-Otti of Sterling Heights. A member of Macomb’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for students at two-year colleges, Olynyk-Otti is graduating with a 4.0 grade point average and an associate degree in business administration. A spa/salon manager, she intends to continue her studies at the University of Nevada – Las Vegas after she and husband Michael Otti relocate to Nevada next spring, with her son, Derek, joining them after he completes his last semester at Macomb next fall.
