Macomb Community College Board of Trustees Accepting Applications to Fill Trustee Vacancy

Macomb Community College’s Board of Trustees is accepting applications to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Trustee Frank DeSantis for personal reasons. The board will be appointing a replacement during their next regularly scheduled meeting on April 26, 2011.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old and reside in Macomb County. Those who wish to be considered for the appointment should submit a letter of interest and a resume to the Office of the Board of Trustees, Macomb Community College, 14500 East 12 Mile Road, Warren, MI  48088-3896 or email their materials to martzp@macomb.edu by 5 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2011.

“On behalf of my colleagues on the college’s board, I thank Trustee Frank DeSantis for his 14 years of service to the college, and by extension, to our community,” said James F. Kelly, chairperson, Macomb board of trustees.  “Maintaining affordability and increasing educational opportunities for residents is critical to Macomb County’s economic vitality, so we will be looking for a colleague to join us who understands the power of education and is dedicated to building on Macomb Community College’s heritage of responsiveness and relevancy.”

The April 26 meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Professional Development Center in the University Center at Macomb’s Center Campus, Clinton Township.  The term of the appointed trustee will expire with the next regularly scheduled election for Macomb Community College trustees, which will be November 6, 2012.
