The 3rd Annual Battle of the Bands at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts will take place at 6:30 p.m. on May 1. The event is organized by the Student Activities Department at Macomb Community College.
Battle of the Bands will feature six area bands competing for bragging rights, free studio time and prizes. Bands interested in participating may contact the Macomb Student Activities Office at 586.445.7446 or sasouth@macomb.edu for registration, eligibility and judging criteria.
Participating bands must submit their demo tape/CD to Student Activities by March 13 in Warren at Macomb Community College South Campus, John Lewis Student Community Center, Room 251 or Center Campus in Clinton Township John R. Dmitry Student Center Room 127.
Tickets for the Battle of the Bands are $1 in advance and $2 at the door. They may be purchased through the Student Activities Offices at either South or Center campuses.
Proceeds from all Battle of the Bands ticket sales will go Charity Music, a Sterling Heights-based foundation established by former Macomb Symphony Orchestra president Roger Fachini. Charity Music donates recycled instruments at no charge to children and other individuals who wish to pursue their musical talents.
