Macomb College's Writing Tutors are available to assist students with improving their papers in-person by appointment and 24/7 via our online submission process.
Writing Tutoring Appointment Availability
Contact the Learning Center to schedule your appointment. Appointments are 30 minutes long.
Note: Appointments tend to book up quickly, especially around midterms and finals. On occasion, Writing Tutors have been able to accommodate walk-ins. Students with appointments will have first priority over students who walk-in.
Online Writing Tutoring Session Preparation
- Allow 2-3 business days for evaluations of papers.
- Download and complete the Writing Tutoring Online Registration Form. Indicate whether your paper is a rough draft or a final draft (if it is a final draft, please submit both the rough and the final drafts). Give as many details as possible about your writing assignment, including type of paper (argumentative, process analysis, descriptive, narrative, etc.). Be sure to indicate the length of your paper and how an Online Writing Tutor can assist you.
- Save papers that you are submitting as RICH TEXT FORMAT documents.
- Email the Online Writing Tutors at WritingTutor@macomb.edu. Be sure to attach your files AND the Writing Tutoring Online Registration Form.
- Upon receipt of your email and attachments, an Online Writing Tutor will send you an acknowledgement of receipt. If you do not receive an acknowledgement within 24 hours, please contact a Writing Tutor or the Center Campus Learning Center at 586.286.2203.
Note: Individuals who have not had a great deal of writing experience might benefit more from an appointment with a Writing Tutor in person.
