Foreign Language Placement Exams are available for students who have expertise in French, German, or Spanish. The exams are available on a walk-in basis at Macomb Community College’s Learning Centers during regular Hours of Operation. Photo identification with signature (e.g. driver’s license, passport, military ID, macomb student id w/photo) is required for all tests administered by the Learning Center. Electronic equipment (cell phones, laptops, tablets, etc.) is not allowed in the testing room. A locker will be provided to store personal items.

Note: Students who successfully complete a Foreign Language Placement Exam will not receive college credit for that course. Individuals that have a French, German, or Spanish background and would like to receive credit for their knowledge should consider taking the appropriate CLEP exam or submitting a Portfolio Credit for Prior Learning packet. A counselor or academic advisor can help you determine which option is the best for you.
