The Management program provides quality business education for students who intend to:
- Earn an Associate of Business Administration Degree (62 credit hour minimum)
- Earn a Certificate (42-43 credit hours)
- Transfer to another college
- Update or upgrade present job skills
- Prepare for an entry job in business
Core Courses
Students are required to complete a seven course management sequence that focuses on basic management principles and concepts. The program also helps to develop the human and technical skills necessary for successful employment and/or transfer to a four-year college. Students will complete survey courses in General Business, Marketing, Accounting, Computer Principles, Business Law and Business Communications. In doing so, students will gain an understanding of the basic concepts of the American system of business enterprise, marketing principles, key financial statements, popular business applications software, and have experience in functioning as a member of a team. Students will also gain experience in delivering oral presentations, preparing written business reports, letters, resumes, as well as other common forms of business communications.
Transferability
The Business Management program is compatible with many bachelor's degree programs offered through local colleges and universities. If you are planning to transfer credits earned at Macomb, you should see a member of the Counseling department as early as possible in your college career.
Two Program Options
Certificate - A group of fourteen business courses, including all seven of the Business Management courses. Forty-two to forty-three college credits are required.
Associate of Business Administration - The forty-two to forty-three college credits required for the certificate, plus, a minimum of 18 credits of Arts and Sciences courses, including either PSYC 1010 or ECON 1160 and 1-3 elective college credits are joined for a total of 62 credit hours. For a full-time student, this represents two years of work, but many proceed at a slower pace.

The business faculty at Macomb Community College is made up of knowledgeable professionals. Faculty credentials include extensive academic training in their respective disciplines, practical experience, licensing to practice in their profession, membership in professional associations, and state and industry certifications.
