PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Enrollment
The Automotive Technology Open Admission Program is the largest program offered by the Automotive Department of Macomb Community College. Approximately 75% of all automotive students enrolled for automotive training at Macomb Community College will get their training by attending classes in this program. Students enrolled in this program will attend classes at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels.
Flexibility
Flexibility of class offerings allow you to choose from morning, afternoon or evening class times as well as classes that are offered on week ends. You also enjoy the flexibility of choosing from earning an Associate Degree, Automotive Certificate or just taking classes that are of interest to you.
Training Formats
Multiple training formats allow you to choose classes that are offered in both the traditional "On Ground" format and the latest format in automotive training, the "Online" format. Classes in this program also combine the benefits of on ground and online formats by offering you a third choice of selecting our "Hybrid" classes.
NATEF Certified Training
The Automotive Technology Program prides itself in delivering NATEF Certified Automotive training in General Motors, Ford Motors and Daimler Chrysler automotive technologies.
Cost
The cost of tuition for the program is based on your residence, making the Automotive Technology Program our most affordable option as well as offering the greatest flexibility in class and career goal selection.
The Associate Degree program consists of a minimum of 68 semester credit hours of instruction. The Automotive Certificate consists of 50 semester credit hours of instruction. Mini Certificate options consists of a minimum of 13 semester credit hours of instruction in any one of the specialty areas.
