This Fall (2011), Macomb Community College will start to investigate alternatives for our ANGEL Learning Management System (LMS). In 2009, Blackboard purchased ANGEL and will not offer long-term support, which means we cannot stay on ANGEL. With our contract ending in 2013, we have an opportunity to take a fresh look at our needs and determine which system will best suit us.

We will engage faculty, students and administration to help us determine which areas are most important to consider. We will also conduct an environmental scan of institutions, in and out of Michigan, to help us make an informed decision. The LMS Advisory Board and CTL staff will focus on answering the following questions:

• What Learning Management Systems are available?
• What are other institutions experiencing and learning about their LMS?
• What do our students and faculty want in an LMS to ensure the best fit for Macomb?
