To earn this bachelor's degree from the University of Detroit-Mercy, you must first complete an applicable associate's degree from Macomb Community College. At least one year of work experience in a health related field is prerequisite. The Bachelor of Science degree in Health Services Administration is designed to prepare individuals for middle management or supervisory positions in organizations, institutions, and agencies that deliver health services. This is accomplished by providing a strong theoretical foundation in management linked with applications to the health care system.
The program consists of two major components in addition to the University of Detroit - Mercy Core Curriculum: (1) The Health Services Administration Major and (2) a professional area of specialization. The professional area of specialization can be satisfied by completing your Macomb associate's degree. The H.S.A. Major will be completed after transfer to the U of D Mercy.
UNIVERSITY Of DETROIT - MERCY CORE CURRICULUM:
All graduates from The University of Detroit Mercy will be expected to satisfy the University Core Curriculum. There are six objectives in the core to be satisfied. These are:
- Objective One: Communication Skills - Writing & Speech 6 credits
