MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY

The 2012 Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service was a tremendous success, with over 400 people volunteering their time and services to 23 different charities and organizations, including the Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity and Charity Music. In addition, 400 units of food were collected for the Student Life and Leadership Food for Thought Pantry, thanks to the generous donations of our volunteers.

Macomb Community College would like to extend a large thank you to the staff, faculty, site leaders and volunteers that helped make this year’s event such a success!

Of course, volunteering is a year-round activity and charities and organizations are in constant need of assistance. Check out some of the links below to learn more about ways you can volunteer.

“It was very fulfilling to participate in the Habitat (for Humanity) movement.  I also met a lot of wonderful people that I wouldn't normally run in to every day at the college..”- - Dr. David Tramontozzi, site leader for Habitat for Humanity

“It is nice to have an organized event where Macomb staff and students work together to give back to the community." —Mary Lou Kata, site leader for Salvation Army New Baltimore
