Qualified high school juniors (will be seniors in the fall) attending a Macomb County public or private high school are recommended by their high school facilitator in the March of their junior year for the Spring/Summer Scholars program. Two types of awards students can earn are Scholastic and Leadership. The high schools are responsible for the recommendation of students into these Scholar programs. Scholastic and Leadership recipients may attempt up to two courses during the Spring/Summer semester. The requirements for these awards are as follows:
Student must have a 2.5 GPA or higher
Number of nominations for each high school is based on the graduating class size
Student must be nominated by the designated high school facilitator
Scholastic:
Tuition and fees are waived for up to two courses during the Spring/Summer semester *
Leadership:
Student is responsible for the first $50 of each course enrolled and is eligible to take no more than two courses during the Spring/Summer semester nominated *
