At both campuses, Macomb offers a variety of physical education courses designed to promote student wellness through education and activity. The PHED-2000 level wellness courses all have a wellness core exploring the topics of nutrition, weight management, physical activity, exercise, and stress management as part of a personal wellness program. Each wellness course has a different focus area so the student may select to do a concentration that coincides with an area of personal interest or need. All wellness courses are 2 credit hours except our newest wellness offering, PHED-2070, which is 3 credit hours and combines the core wellness materials with the educational experiences necessary to earn American Red Cross certifications (RTE, CPR and AED) in first aid. PHED-1000 level courses offer the student a variety of skill-based classes for fitness, safety and personal enjoyment.
