Macomb Community College’s Associate of Applied Science degree or certificate in Homeland Security provides students with a foundation of private and homeland security knowledge to build upon as a transfer to a specialty degree. The program is designed to prepare students for full-time employment in this field and to upgrade personnel currently employed in the security industry.
The student will develop or improve skills and knowledge in:
- Homeland Security
- Terrorism
- Border Security
- Emergency Management
- Intelligence Analysis
- other facets of law enforcement
Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be able to demonstrate basic knowledge of homeland security issues. The associate degree requires a minimum of 62 semester hours, and the certificate requires 26 hours. Students who intend to transfer to a four-year college are encouraged to consult with a member of Macomb’s counseling staff.
