ADMISSION

 

All students must successfully pass (C or better) Anatomy and Physiology (BIOL-2710 or BIOL-2310) and Medical Terminology (HHSC-1700) before entering the program.  Students are encouraged to complete many of the related Arts and Sciences (PHED, ITCS-1010, ENGL-1210 or ENGL-1180, SOCY-1010, PHIL-2100, PSYC-1010, BUSN-1010) requirements before entering the program.

Admission to the program is based on petition to the program coordinator. 

  

Successful passing of the ACT COMPASS test available at Macomb Community College.  Applicants must complete the entire COMPASS, which includes standard writing, standard reading and mathematics pre-algebra.  A score of 68 or higher on the standard reading component is required for consideration into admission in the Health Information Technology Program.

 

Classes begin in the fall semester and enrollment is limited to 23 students each year.  Individuals will be accessed on an individual basis
