APPLICATION PROCEDURE

 
  1. Complete the application form found on page 7 of the CAT Brochure. Mail it to the address indicated on the form or fax it to 586-445-7887.
  2. Tour the facilities and talk to a program advisor.  The prospective student may schedule an appointment with the CAT advisor when requesting a tour.  Please contact Kurtis LaHaie at 586-445-7267, or the Automotive Department office at 586-445-7012.
  3. Submit an Application for Admission to Macomb College.  Apply online or visit the enrollment office in G Building at South or Center Campus (see the Academic Schedule of Classes for the official course admission and registration process).
  4. Apply for financial aid.  (This step may be optional.)  Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  This can be completed online.  Macomb's school code: 008906.  Please contact the Financial Aid Office for further information at 586-445-7228.
  5. Complete Macomb's placement testing.  New students to the college are required to complete COMPASS placement testing in mathematics, reading, and English (writing).  The results will be used to recommend general education courses appropriate for the student's level.  Please call 586-445-7423 for more information.
  6. Attend a New-Student Orientation/Course Planning Session.  To complete orientation online, click here, or sign up for an on campus session in the Counseling & Academic Advising office.  During course planning, inform the advising staff that you will be entering the Automotive CAT Program.
  7. Register for classes.  CAT students will be sent a letter containing registration information.  Please do not register for any classes until you receive this information.
