Coach Jim Twigg begins his first season at Macomb Community College after spending three years as the head coach at Grosse Pointe South High School, in which he developed many players to make an easy transition to the collegiate ranks.
Twigg comes to Macomb with twenty years of coaching experience.  Jim began his career as the Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach in 1990 at Clawson High School.  From there he has made stops at L’Anse Creuse North, Avondale and Sterling Heights High Schools as the Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach.  He also was an assistant basketball coach at St. Mary’s College and Grosse Pointe South. 

Coach Twigg is a graduate of Sterling Heights High School.  After graduating from Sterling Heights, Twigg went on to pursue his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Wayne State.  He earned his B.S. in Secondary Ed./Biology in 1993 and earned his M.A. in School Counseling in 2003.  Twigg is currently a Guidance Counselor at Beer Middle School in Warren.
