DAN SIMECK

Coach Simeck enters his third year of coach at Macomb Community College, specializing in pole vaulting.  However, this is Simeck’s thirty-seventh year of coaching track and cross-country either on the high school or college level.  Throughout his years of coaching he has accomplished several things but none more gratifying than his induction into the Macomb County Hall-of-Fame.

As a runner, Simeck, earned All-State honors in High School and then went on to Michigan State University and was a member of a Big Ten Cross Country Championship team.  At Michigan State he earned his Bachelors in Special Education, CI, POHI and later earned a Masters in Instructional Design.

Coach Simeck is currently a Supervisor in Special Education and he and his wife of thirty-eight years have two children Kevin and Kim.  They also are the proud grandparents of Kylie, Emma and Brittany.

“It is a privilege to work with Kim (Renas) and Das (Campbell); they are two outstanding coaches and great individuals to know.”-Dan Simeck
