Since 1971, the Macomb Police Academy has provided basic police training to 3,500 Michigan police officers. Over 220 Michigan law enforcement agencies have hired Macomb Police Academy graduates.
The academy consists of 17 weeks of MCOLES approved training. Highly qualified subject matter experts provide Macomb cadets with instruction which exceeds MCOLES mandates. In addition the Macomb Police Academy offers academic support and job placement assistance to all cadets.
Two academy sessions are scheduled each year.
Fall 2012 - Academy begins August 13, 2012 and graduates December 12, 2012.
Spring 2013 - Academy begins January 21, 2013 and graduates May 17, 2013.
