Clients
The Workforce Development Institute (WDI) is privileged to serve over 200 local companies and train over 6,500 people in 2006-2007 alone. Our clients have ranked our services at the highest levels and have consistently returned to the WDI for their continued needs in assessments, consulting, education and training.
Partners
The WDI cooperates, collaborates and partners with many public and private organizations to provide special courses, training and services.
Examples include a partnership with the prestigious Kaizen Institute in operating the only Kaizen College at a community college in the world. The partnership offers Kaizen Consulting, Benchmarking and Training programs on lean principles including Continuous Improvement, Total Productive Management, Total Flow Management, Total Services Management and 5S. For more information on the Kaizen College at Macomb, please click here Kaizen College/Lean.
Another example is that Macomb Community College and the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) have established a formal alliance - the first with a Community College in the state. A key goal of the alliance is the establishment of the MIOSHA Training Institute (MTI). The MTI will help protect the safety and health of Michigan's workers through innovative training to both MIOSHA staff and the public. The MTI will include a certification process to encourage and promote continuous education and advanced-level training. For more information on the MTI, click here MIOSHA Training Institute.
Some of our other partners include the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and our offering of the LEAN Certification program through SME, the Shingo Prize and AME, offering Customized EPLAN P8 Training programs for General Motors and their suppliers and our newest programs, offering Assessments, Consulting and Customized Training in Management and Supervision programs including those through our DDI certified trainers.
