Macomb has a strong history of helping local businesses and industry qualify for various grant funding by building comprehensive, customized training programs.

Macomb's Workforce Development Institute has strong and favorable partnerships with two key local funding agencies, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), and the Macomb/St. Clair Workforce Development Board.  Eligibility for these grant programs is strongly focused on job creation and retention in but not limited to the manufacturing industry.  In addition, Macomb has recently secured federal funding from the Department of Labor for the purpose of building education programs and providing local training.
