CRIMINAL JUSTICE TRAINING CENTER

 

The Criminal Justice Training Center located at the East Campus of Macomb Community College is made up of the basic police academy and advanced/in-service police training. The Criminal Justice Training Center is one of twenty-one regional criminal justice training centers in the State of Michigan. The Criminal Justice Training Center promotes interagency cooperation and coordinates interagency training initiatives. The Center works with its membership to identify problems and to discuss interdisciplinary solutions as well as acting as a liaison between federal, state, county and local law enforcement agencies.

 

POLICE ACADEMY

The Macomb Police Academy is located at the East Campus of Macomb Community College. Since 1971, Macomb has trained over 3,500 police officers from around the State of Michigan. Over 220 different law enforcement agencies in Michigan have hired Macomb graduates.

The academy provides over 640 hours/16 weeks of training approved by MCOLES to prepare candidates for entry into a law enforcement career. Two classes are held each year.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR TRAINING

Macomb Community College Criminal Justice Training Center is proud to work in cooperation with Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) to provide both the RPTE Testing and Full Program. These programs are offered at Macomb College's Emergency Services Training Center located in Clinton Township, MI. Once you have received authorization from MCOLES, you must contact Macomb College to register for the Recognition of Prior Training test only or the full program.

ADVANCED POLICE TRAINING


The Advanced Police Section of Macomb Community College, Criminal Justice Training Center offers a full range of  in-service training within the public and private sectors for police officer, investigators, tactical teams, public safety divers, reserve officers and 911 dispatchers.  

99% of the programs offered through Advanced Police Training are approved by the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) for P.A. 302 (60%) funding.

Further, Department memberships are offer to reduce your training costs.
