CONFLICT RESOLUTION SPECIALIST

Are you able to stay calm and objective under stress? Do you have a knack for helping two parties resolve their differences? Then you might have a future as Conflict Resolution Specialist! Macomb College's program will give you many levels and options for training. Students who take the Basic Mediation course will be prepared to:

  • Intern at local nonprofit resolution centers
  • Mediate conflict in the workplace

Students who are ready for a greater challenge can continue their training towards becoming independent mediators and arbitrators through the Michigan court system. A total of 160 hours of classroom and 80 hours of internship are required to earn Macomb’s certificate as a Conflict Resolution Specialist.

Are you a licensed attorney? Then you may waive the Basic Mediation course and enroll in the General Civil Mediation or Domestic Relations programs. However, we recommended starting with the basic course so you won’t miss critical skill building exercises.
