Who are the instructors for this program?
Macomb Community College contracts the truck driving course through International Trucking School Inc., (ITS) who own and operate their own fleet of trucks.
Is financial aid available?
Financial aid is available through the Veterans Administration and through MiWorks.
How long will it take to complete this program?
Students can complete this program in as little as four weeks by attending full time on Monday through Friday from 8 am – 5:30 pm. Part time classes are available but take longer to complete.
Will I actually drive a truck?
Yes. You will be practicing with ITS trucks near Macomb Community College South Campus.
Are grades or tests given?
Yes, you will be tested to see if you are ready for the written Certified Driver’s License (A) exam.
Will I be taking the CDL-A exam in class?
The CDL-A is licensed by the state of Michigan. You will receive all the training you need in order to take the exam. The actual exam is taken at the Secretary of State Office. More information will be given out in class.
What if I miss a class?
ITS instructors are committed to working with each student to ensure success and make up time will be offered as available in their schedule.
Are there refresher courses available?
Yes.
Is there any job placement assistance?
Yes. International Trucking School works with each student to provide job placement.
