We’ve done the math. And now, to help you do yours, we’ve changed the minimum placement scores for enrollment in certain Algebra courses, effective with registration for the Spring/Summer 2012 term.
If you score 0 to 33 in COMPASS Algebra, you will be placed into MATH-0070 (Beginning Algebra). Previously, the range of eligible scores was 0 to 26.
The result? Students with scores of between 27 and 33 will now ALSO be placed in MATH-0070.
Students with scores of 34 to 50 may enroll in MATH-1000 (Intermediate Algebra) or MATH-1100 (Everyday Mathematics).
We think the benefits of this improved placement range will really add up to increase your potential for success in college and beyond.
