TUITION AND COURSE FEE REFUND POLICY

It shall be the College policy to refund tuition and course fees according to the following schedule, except where superseded by law, to a student who properly withdraws from a class.

Classes Schedule for 15 or More Weeks

A student who properly withdraws from a class before the close of the 5th business day following the start of the class shall be entitled to a 100% refund. A student who properly withdraws from a class before the close of the 10th business day following the start of the class shall be entitled to a 50% refund. A student who withdraws from a class after the close of the 10th business day following the start of the class shall receive no refund.

Online Classes and Classes Scheduled for Less Than 15 Weeks

A student who properly withdraws from a class before the close of the 5th business day following the start of the class shall be entitled to a 100% refund. A student who withdraws from a class after the close of the 5th business day following the start of the class shall receive no refund.

Classes Schedule to Meet for 4 or Less Class Sessions

A student who properly withdraws from a class before the earlier of the 5th business day following the start of the class or the close of the business day immediately preceding the day on which the second class session is scheduled shall receive a 100% refund. A student who withdraws from a class after the earlier of the 5th business day following the start of the class or the close of the business day immediately preceding the day on which the second class session is scheduled shall receive no refund.

Classes Canceled by College Administrative Action

Refunds do not include the registration fee. When classes are canceled as a result of College administrative action, students in such classes will receive 100% refund. If the administratively canceled class is the only class taken by the student, the registration fee will also be refunded.

Time

Unless a class starts on a weekend, the day on which a class starts is the first business day for the purposes of this policy (i.e. if a class starts on Monday, Friday of the same week is the 5th business day assuming no intervening holiday on which the college is closed for business). If a class starts on a weekend, the next business day is the first business day for the purposes of this policy.

Special Circumstances

Students who must withdraw from a class after the official refund period as a result of military deployment shall receive a 100% refund of tuition, course fees and registration fee or equivalent credit voucher upon presentation of documentation satisfactory to the College.

Students who must withdraw from a class after the end of the official refund period but before the end of the official withdrawal date within that term due to hospitalization; accidental injury; prolonged illness; mandatory shift change at student's place of full-time employment (does not include mandatory overtime); and mandatory move of employment which necessitates a change of residency (does not include new employer), may receive a 100% refund of tuition, course fees and registration fee in the form of a credit voucher upon presentation of documentation satisfactory to the College. However, if the student is receiving financial aid, a refund may not be issued due to Federal regulatory requirements.

Requests for special consideration must be made in writing to the Director of Enrollment Services/Registrar.
