SECURITY GUIDELINES

 

The Board of Trustees is responsible for the safety and well-being of the employees and students of the College and for the protection and preservation of the physical assets of the College permitting no unlawful or disruptive action which will hinder the staff and students in the pursuit of educational goals. The Board is also responsible for protecting and preserving an environment that will not interfere with or impede in any way the orderly performance of the lawful duties of the Board of Trustees, College employees, and representatives or cause or threaten to cause damage or injury to the physical assets of the College.


The Board of Trustees and its employees and representatives are not vested by law with inherent police powers. It is therefore deemed necessary and appropriate that certain of the administrative personnel of the District be designated as the lawful representatives and agents of the Board of Trustees. These representatives are authorized to take steps and initiate actions on behalf of the Board as may be necessary to meet its recognized public responsibilities and discharge its lawful public obligations.


The following named administrative personnel of the College District are designated as the representatives and agents on behalf of the Board of Trustees. They are authorized to take such steps in its behalf as may be necessary to meet its recognized public responsibilities and to discharge its lawful public obligations.

Members of President’s Council
Executive Director of Facilities and Operations
Captain of College Police


The aforementioned representatives and agents of this Board of Trustees are empowered on behalf of the Board of Trustees to call upon the Police Departments of the City of Warren and the Township of Clinton, the Sheriff's Department of the County of Macomb, and the Michigan State Police or any other authorized police agencies or officers, to render aid and assistance by the exercise of their inherent police power, in maintaining peace and order on the property owned by the District, to assure the safety and well-being of its personnel and students, to protect and preserve the physical assets of the District and in otherwise meeting the recognized responsibilities of the Board of Trustees.
